- Don't leave "pump top" lotions, hair products, shaving cream, cologne, mustard... around where little hands might be able to reach them. (Same rule holds true for razors!)
- If you leave permanent markers where they can reach them, expect your kids to re-decorate your furniture with them. (Yes, even if you've corrected them for doing it before. In that case, maybe you are the one who needs correcting - for leaving it out again!)
- If you decide to follow the advice of any parenting magazines, make sure they are age-appropriate. Case in point: If you choose to leave a few bottom drawers unprotected with child-safety locks, and fill them with little play items for your little explorers, be sure to add the locks when the reach climbing age. If you do not, you should prepare for those drawers to be used as step-stools. You should also be prepared for those drawers and/or their supporting hardware to be destroyed under the weight of your little "mountain goat".
- Don't let your boys play with bats - even plastic ones - in the house.
- If you watch boxing with boys, they WILL get ideas! And considering their height, daddy better guard his "wedding tackle" from a left hook!
