- If you scoop up an 18-month-old b/c he's crying while you are on the phone, be sure to remove the plastic bowling pin from his hand first, else you will be the one crying when he pops you on the chin with it.
- You can teach a three-year-old not to dump his cheerios on the floor like his 18-month-old brother, but good luck teaching him not to stomp on the ones already there! ("They're crunchy and fun to step on!")
- If you have a "kung-fu baby" (see previous "kung-fu" posts), you should be advised that his/her kung-fu capabilities do not cease during sleep. Should you choose to nap/sleep beside them, it would be wise to turn the other way. You may still be rudely awakened by their kung-fu slap or kick, but your nose, eyes, stomach and groin will be better protected. (I'm a glutton for punishment, I guess)
- You can be confident that if you share the joys of gardening with your toddlers, they will most likely water where you've already watered, throw the old dirt (with clay, rocks, roots and weeds) into the new dirt bucket, and they will certainly dig right where you just finished planting new plants/bulbs.
- To little boys, a water fountain is a water fountain - whether or not it is intended to be a drinking fountain.
