Let's Talk!

It had been a long day. It had been a stressful evening. Just getting everyone ready for bed was a tiring chore. Laura was tired. I was tired. Evan was falling asleep. Nathan had caught his "second wind". As Laura put Evan down, I tried to calm Nathan down and get him to sleep. I hugged him, kissed him, and prepared to turn out the light. "Don't turn out that light yet, Daddy!" he said. "Nathan, it's time to go to sleep. We're not going to read tonight, because it's already late," I explained. "We don't have to read a book, Daddy!" he said, looking intently into my eyes. Then he continued as he sat up on the bed, "Let's just talk!"
