Nathan is learning to use "please" and "thank you". He is starting to say "please" after requesting food, or various actions. Most often, it's after a first request has gone ignored, denied, or unheard. Just yesterday morning, after he woke, he said, "Want sumpin-a-eat, please!" How can you deny that? He also says things like, "wanna go for a ride? want to? please?"
"Thank you" is another phrase he's using well. In fact, just a week ago I gave him a toy he had been asking for, and when I gave it to him, he replied, "thank you very much!" Another phrase he likes is "how 'bout that!" He uses it daily, and usually very appropriately. We just installed an organizer in his closet, and once completed he looked at it and said "how 'bout that!"
