Nathan has several phrases that he uses somewhat regularly. Some of them are very precious to us. He recently learned to say, "I'm tired" although he seldom wants to take a nap. And when he doesn't want to do something he says, "no want it!" (in a slightly whiney tone) He has started to let us know when his diaper needs attention (potty training begins soon!). He says, "need-a-check-a-diaper" or "got poopy-doops!"
He is such a little "parrot"! He has learned many things in the form of our questioning him, so his requests are often in question form to us. For example, when he wants to do something, he doesn't say, "I want to go to the park." He says, "You wanna go to the park?" It's entertaining sometimes, and here are some favorites: "You wanna go to the park?", "Wanna go for a ride on Daddy's bike?" (or "in the car"), "You wanna take a bath?", "You wanna check-a-diaper?", "You wanna get sumpin-a-eat?", and one of my favorites, "You wanna wrestle me?"
There are many more Nathanisms, but my favorite of all has got to be when he comes to us with upstretched arms and says, "Picky-up?!"
