In the Kitchen

I think I've established already that Nathan loves to help. He wants to help take out the trash, wash clothes, work in the yard, drive (no, he hasn't, outside of the driveway, but he wants to!), cooking... It's funny, too, because he's still figuring out "you" and "me". If he wants to help me with something, he'll often say, "wanna help me ___ ?" He's very helpful in the kitchen...

While making sandwiches, the mayo "disappeared". "Nathan, did you move the mayo?" I asked. "The mayo!" was his reply. "Where is the mayo, Nathan?" "Where is the mayo?" he parroted. "Do you know where it is?" I inquired. He walked over to the pantry, sloooowwwly opened the door, leaned his head in rather dramatically, and said, "Look! There's the mayo!" (as if he was surprised to find it there).

He loves unloading the dishwasher. He really doesn't seem to care if the contents are clean. He also likes to turn it on. Our plates and glasses are very clean!

And, though we have been able to keep him on a pretty healthy diet to this point, he is learning how to retrieve food from the pantry and 'fridge. He knows the difference between "his cookies" (graham crackers) and "daddy's cookies" (oreos). Guess which ones he prefers. And, if he's in the kitchen when you open the refrigerator, just make sure you don't close him in it when you're done. He's like "the Flash" when he wants something out of there (which is most of the time).

Oh, and he also likes to help clean the kitchen...
