Evan is following in Nathan's footsteps, as far as picking up and cleaning up is concerned. He helps pick up toys and (sometimes) places his dirty cup and fork, etc. into the sink. He even cleans up spills! Recently, he dropped his "sippy cup" and spilled some juice on the kitchen floor (so much for "leak-proof"). I knew what had happened, I just hadn't made my way over to clean it up yet. Evan looked at the spill for a couple of seconds, looked at me with an "uh-oh" face, then turned and walked over to the sink. He opened the cabinet door as far as the child safety latch would allow. He reached in, stretching to grab a paper towel from the roll mounted on the inside of the door. He pulled off a sheet and returned to the spill, where he knelt down and wiped up his mess. He then returned to the sink, where he opened the other side as far as the latch would allow and pushed the wad of paper towel through the crack toward the trash can.
Maybe his fascination with the toilet is all about wanting to clean it! (Or maybe he wants to plant his face in the water and blow bubbles like at swim class.)
