Everyday Needs

Nathan and Evan had been missing Mommy after a hectic Christmas season at her store. They'd both been acting out a little bit with her in different ways, which we recognized as their own expressions of missing her. Evan was extremely whiny and clingy with her, and Nathan was being really mean to her. At one point, I sat down with Nathan and asked him why he was being so ugly to Mommy. "Because she's been working too much," was his reply. At least he understands himself, I guess. As Laura was spending some make-up time with Nathan a few days after Christmas, she held and snuggled him on the bed. Nathan instructed her, "Mommy, I want you to hold me like this EVERY DAY!"
