short-lived sweetness

So much for Evan's sweet side... Today, I arrived to pick the boys up from school and was informed that Evan had been HITTING one or more of the other boys at Aftercare (this is a post-dismissal service provided by several teachers who stay late and let the kids have free time until their parents pick them up after work). "He hit one boy in the stomach, and then hit another boy in the back with a shovel." A SHOVEL?! (At this point, I'm hoping it was a toy shovel and, if not, what the heck is a SHOVEL doing on the playground!?) Ok, so he's had some anger outbursts with Nathan, but rest assured, his little bottom received a firm reminder (once we got home) that we don't hit other kids - especially with SHOVELS (or any other tools, for that matter)!
