In Search Of A Better Way

I've been reading a book on parenting called, "Shepherding a Child's Heart". It's really insightful and instructive on how to get beyond "behavior modification" and address heart issues that motivate behavior. I was reading one evening while the boys were playing in the tub and Nathan asked, "Dad, what book are you reading?" "It's called, 'Shepherding a Child's Heart'." "But, why are you reading it?" "Because I want to be a better Dad to you and Evan." His response was so encouraging, "Oh! Maybe you can be more like Mr. Casey - he doesn't get loud like you do, even when he spanks [his boys]!"

I've talke to my friend Casey, and he's promised to make a little more noise the next time he's around my guys!
